Overview

This document describes how to install ManyDesigns Portofino 3.1.x (also applicable to 3.0.x). For an explanation of the differences between the two versions, see the ManyDesigns Portofino 3.1 release notes.
Some experience with the configuration of databases and Java servers is required. 

The installation steps are the following: 

• Software requirements
• Downloading Portofino
• Creating the database
• Installing the JDBC driver
• Basic configuration
• Deployment:
  • Deploying on Tomcat
  • Deploying on JBoss
  • Deploying on Glassfish
  • Deploying on Oracle Containers for J2EE (OC4J)
• Running the installer
• Optimizing the configuration

The mentioned steps should give a working installation of Portofino in little.
